La 94ª edizione dei premi Oscar (Los Angeles, Dolby Theatre, 27 marzo 2022) ha incoronato I segni del cuore – CODA come miglior film. Non ce la fa Sorrentino; Jane Campion miglior regia; Will Smith (che ha preso a pugni Chris Rock per una brutta battuta sulla moglie) miglior attore protagonista, Jessica Chastain miglior attrice
Il premio per il miglior film è andato a I segni del cuore – CODA, ma il primato del numero più alto di premi vinti è stato per Dune: miglior suono, miglior montaggio, miglior scenografia, miglior fotografia, migliori effetti speciali e migliore colonna sonora. Il premio per il miglior film internazionale è andato al giapponese Drive My Car, quello per il miglior documentario a Summer of Soul. Miglior film d’animazione a Encanto. Will Smith è stato premiato come miglior attore, Jessica Chastain come migliore attrice e Jane Campion ha vinto l’Oscar per la regia.
